The School House
This Suite is situated on the ground floor of the main house and is accessed by its own 'front door'.
The principal room would have originally been the 'servants' hall' thus its ample proportions and large fireplace with a cosy wood-burning stove. Later it became the 'school room' where the children on the estate were taught. Testament to this is the frieze around three quarters of the room, depicting the kings and queens of Scotland from the 11th century onwards. This wonderful, historic feature remains intact.
A large bay window looks over our well manicured lawn bordered by substantial rhododendrons and flowering shrubs. This provides the ideal spot to have a drink or a meal with an excellent vantage point to watch the grazing deer early in the morning and in the late evenings.
The suite features a luxurious marble clad 'wet room' including an ample bath with shower attachment. The fully equipped , separate kitchen allows you to rustle up anything from a simple snack to a full feast for two.
With all rooms on the same level this suite is suitable for guests with additional mobility needs. Do please check with us if you have any questions.
